Candice C. Bryant
Candice Bryant has served as president of the Philip L. Graham Fund since 2000. Prior to her appointment to the Fund in 2000, Candice was Director of Administration for The Washington Post, where she had served in a variety of managerial positions since joining the newspaper in 1985. Before that, Candice worked for the US Office of Management and Budget for 13 years and taught high school math in DC Public Schools.
She received her A.B. in mathematics from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and a M.A.T. in mathematics curriculum and instruction from Cornell University in New York. A native Washingtonian, Candice has been a very active volunteer in the community with an especially strong commitment to the welfare and education of children. She is single and continues to live in the City.
Glovenia S. Gatewood
Glovenia Gatewood became Executive Assistant of the Philip L. Graham Fund in 2000, leaving her position as Administrative Assistant to Publisher of the Washington Post newspaper. Prior to that she had served as confidential secretary to The Post's Vice President, Legal Department. She joined The Post in 1977, where she served as confidential secretary to the President of the Los Angeles Times-Washington Post News Service. Prior to working at The Post, she had worked at the Justice Department and the law firm Covington & Burling.
